We are seeking a talented Aerospace Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Software and Embedded Systems departments to program and integrate our software suite and the onboard computer systems of our Stratostats platforms. This role involves close collaboration with the Chief AI Officer and the CTO to ensure seamless integration and functionality of our advanced aerospace systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on system requirements either as input or helping defining the, derive SW requirements.
- Develop and maintain software applications using Python and JavaScript.
- Integrate circuit-code solutions on Linux-based platforms.
- Collaborate with the Software and Embedded Systems teams to program and integrate our software suite.
- Work with MDB techniques to shorten the development life cycle of the SW applications to be provided.
- Ensure the robustness and reliability of software solutions through rigorous testing and validation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and methodologies, including configuration management control
- Work closely with the Chief AI Officer and the CTO on project specifications and requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- Competencies in defining a SW architecture with clear logical priorities and failsafe mechanisms embedded in the design.
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript.
- Strong experience with Linux operating systems and with GitHub (or similar) tool for configuration management.
- Hands-on experience with circuit-code integration.
- Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace and related standards (DO178, DO331, etc.)
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts.
- Experience with Model Based Design.
- Experience with embedded systems development.
- Familiarity with stratospheric or high-altitude balloon systems.
